Life's Good

When you think that all is good, all is fine, I'm living in reality ...
But honestly, did you ever think that your life is ALL good?

Some things are not meant to be owned. Some are not suppose to be yours. Some are to be waited. Some are prohibited. And most things are to remind you that life is good.

Though it may not seemed like it. Life is still good. Despite all that has been done, the best is yet to come.

Depression.
Huh? Who? Me? What? Angel? How? Nooo! Can't be. Oh yess.. who said I can't? I'm still a human being. I have senses and emotions too, ya know.
Over what?

...and God reminded me to be patient. "But seek the Kingdom of God and ALL these things shall be added to you."
Prioritizing God as number one is important. Not your studies, although exam's in two days time; not your hangouts; not your boyfriend, though you feel that he loves you very much ... But is your life all about that? These things shall perish one day. But what will survive?

Legacies and the promises of God.
I want my generation to be God-fearing people. Reverent and righteous. But it all starts from me. The decisions I make now will determine whether it's blessings or consequences.

Depression?
Not anymore. I have overcame by the power of His name. I always believe ... that the best is yet to come. AND ... it ain't over. it AIN'T over..
Breakthrough is on its way. Knocked twice and nothing happened? Keep on doing it. Who knows that it'll crack open on the third knock.

Be blessed. Go. And conquer!

defending joel osteen.

I received an email update from Joel Osteen Ministry and they've informed me that both husband and wife will be interviewed live by Larry King on Oct. 16, 2007! An hour full!
I'm excited for them. =D.
I also received an email that says Osteen was interviewed by CBS News about criticisms. How he handled criticisms. So, out of curiosity, I googled his name to find what criticisms did he receive. Then I found this page: http://www.apprising.org/archives/2005/10/joel_osteen_smi.html

I really snorted! After reading excerpts of this article, I KNEW it must be from a religious preacher who ALWAYS think that those who did NOT quote or PREACH about the Bible is ... a FALSE PROPHET!
The man who wrote this is still in a boxed mindset, that's how I viewed it.
So, if his man ever gets to read my blog, here's what I have defend on Joel Osteen's messages and ministry:

Firstly, we're living in the 21st century. If you keep on preaching about the Scripture in some traditional methods, do you think people of this era will accept it so easily? Think! This era is really different. As compared to five-ten years ago, today is the time when ALL of us are taught to think and reason. Ever wondered why people become free-thinkers? Because they think that religion is NOT for them. Too many rules. Too many things to commit. Eeeew, hello .... life now is about how you present yourself -- study, get an A+ and your honors, get a good job, get married, and voila ... retire before you die. I trust in myself. I know that I can do it. I don't need anyone else. <<< THAT! is the mindset of most people who's living in this century.
So, if the Gospel's carried out in traditional methods with traditional terms, who the heck would listen??? Even old people won't bother, at least that's what I know, coming from experience (ahem! my grandpa)

Joel Osteen's approach is very practical, I must say. I heard so many testimonies about how his sermons touched even the non-believers. One of my Mom's friends, who's a non-B, told my mom that he knew Joel Osteen. He listened to his sermons before he flew off the plane (he's an SIA pilot! ;p). He liked it very much and he can relate to it better. I mean, with testimonies like this, Joel Osteen is doing a very good job in transforming people's mindset in their views of God.

Christianity is NOT a religion. It's a relationship with our God. Take Jesus' life for example. Has He ever indoctrinate the people SO MUCH like the Pharisees? Has He ever say, "PEOPLE! I FREAKIN' FORCE YOU TO BELIEVE IN GOD!"? Don't you think if He says that, people will get turn off because people don't even know if He's the real Messiah or not UNTIL He acts like one! Yes or no? He showed people that He is the ONE because of His life! The way He lives really showed that He is in Earth not to have fun and because His Father commanded Him so...He offered Himself to save ya'll and me. He came as a human being just like you and me. He knew the Word and that's why He chose to share the Truth with the world, IN PRACTICAL MANNER!

Imagine if Jesus has no relationship with His Father God in Heaven, do you think that He can bear the cross? He's doing it because He knows that this'll help EVERYONE in the earth, who has sin against God receives freedom and access to eternal life. He knows who He is in God's eyes. He knows that in the end, it's not only Him who gets the reward, but everyone who believes in Christ Jesus.

Basically, my main point is ... live righteously! Take the Word, apply it in your life, and voila ... you're all set for the day! =)
Don't be SO OOOOOOO religious and spiritual, like every sentences has "Hallelujah" at its tail ... OMG. Even I ... will be so turned off by that.

Anyway! Joel Osteen! He's da bomb! ;)

are you happy now?

"Life's unfair."

Many times we hear this quote. How true is it in our lives? I'm sure we've all been through ups and downs. But when your downs have stronger gravitational force on you, you'll cry out, "LIFE'S UNFAIR!" It will always be. No matter how old or young you are, life is sometimes unfair.

I just read an email from my Mom. She replied me late because she told me that she's been very busy lately. And today, she said she went to one of the MSA students' funeral. A 3rd grader just passed away 2 days ago. She had only came to school for 2 days last week, and on the weekend, she was operated for a brain tumor. However, it did not turn up well. How is life fair?

I didn't even know the girl but when I read that email, I was silent. I was devastated. And I broke down. It's probably because as an individual, I am very sensitive. But this ...

God! This is a 3rd grader! It's a baby girl who has not even turned a decade! If I were her mother, I'll also be devastated. Here you are, telling your child that she's going to be a great woman, making lots of money, marrying a wise husband in the future. But seconds later, coz time flies very fast, she's gone sooner than you think. I simply couldn't understand. Chih. No wonder I'm not God.

Losing someone is horrible. I think it's so much better to breakup with a bf/gf rather than having someone died. Well at least after the breakup you still can have a life! Although it's up to you whether you want to HAVE it or drown yourself in misery and pity-party. Chih. And then you tell yourself that you wanna DIE because he/she broke you up. Then go and DIE la! People want to live and avoid dying but you're so "desperate" to go to the other side. Stupidity.

... I'm sorry. I'm being so emo today, although I've told myself that today is a wonderful day. I've tried... it just seems contradictory. I've been angry with people. And now I've learnt a lesson...be with them, spend time with them, just be thankful that they're still present ... God's time for them hasn't come yet, so make the best out of it. Appreciate them like never before. They're your loved ones. They are unique people that you'll spend the rest of your life with. There's not gonna be another them in the future nor in the past. They're them. Your loves. My loved ones.

To all my friends and family who's reading this. I thank you so much that I have you in my life. You may not be perfect to be my friend, coz I am not too. But I'm glad that the times we've shared are all quality time! You've marked your name in my heart, my soul, and my mind. No matter what, I will never forget you! I may not remember your name in the future but ... I know, the angels will whisper me your name so the memories we've had will be revived.
Love ya'll! =)

interesting eh.

Ah!
Today I went off to fix my dearest lappie at Funan.
What happened you say??

Well, first my Z key was off bcoz I pressed it too much (or maybe I'm just being tough on it) =P~
Then my dad's camera's memory stick was stuck inside my card reader. It wasn't the right size, but I forced it anyway ... so that's what happened if you don't follow ... ahem ... instructions.

So now it's fixed. I can happily enjoy my lappie again. DUR!
Anyhooooo...
Here's something cool that I found out from Melvine's friend in friendster. Hehe.
Enjoy!

the tagline.

"If you're brave enough to kill, why aren't you brave enough to change?"

It's one of those powerful lines taken from a Hong Kong movie Invisible Target.
Although at first I did not plan to watch it but since my sister, my brother, my uncle, and I had nothing to do in Vivocity, we decided to kill time by watching this Chinese movie. It turns out to be an amazing masterpiece! Not only was the storyline catchy, the effects and stunts were also incredible. The actors include Shawn Yue and Nicholas Tse -- oh yeah, they're sizzlin' HOT -- and one more guy (whom I shall call Mr.X, for now, coz I don't know the name!) who looked like Jacie Chan (Jackie Chan's son) ... except that this guy has a better nose than Mr.Chan. Ahem..

That tagline was actually addressed to one of the gangsters that these policemen tried to arrest. (Take note that the actors that I've mentioned were the "good guys"). It was Mr.X's line when he questioned the villain (I shall call him Mr.O, for blogging purpose). Mr.X asked that question because he knew that there was still some good and working conscience in Mr.O.
On the other hand, Mr.O replied him coldly, "I was born to be bad." and so on and so forth ... and in the end, Mr.O died. How? WATCH IT YOURSELF, you spoiler-reader! I spend SEVEN bucks just to watch the movie and you wanna know the whole story for free? ISH! So inhumane ar!

The powerful message about the tagline is this ...
Change that "kill" into something we are sinful most. It may be watching TV, or smoking, or indulging massive chocolates. If we can do that, why can't we change? And of course, this "change" is to a better cause.
As I ponder on this question, I came into a conclusion, which may not be applicable to ALL, but it is universal (especially to me).
"Phenomenal miracles happen because of desperate people asking for it."
I derived this quote from a sermon by Ps.Franco G. when he came to ENCS on July 15, 2007.
In other words, things do happen according to what we are desperate for. If I take a look at my life, for instance, I would see that 95% of my desperateness leads to success. But of course, the 5% is either I wasn't allowed or not yet. An example would be my wanting to get the glasses that I wanted. If you all know the blue specs that I wore for the last two years, that's the product of Angelene being desperate! My grandma told me that it wasn't suitable for me. My mom told me that it looked horendous. Nevertheless, I kept on persisting. I ensure them that it's something out of the ordinary and it'll survive with me for a couple of years (uhm..it's coz I always change specs when I'm given the chance to shop for one =P). And true enough, they're probably "annoyed" by my determination to own the blue plastic spectacles. The end of the story ... they bought my desperateness.
See what I mean?
Hope ya'll catch the movie as soon as possible. And do LEARN from media. It sure feeds you with lotsa moral principles and values.

Young and MacMac

We bid farewells to two of our dearest friends in a month? That's too much already.
First we had Young. She left Korea already. 'Twas a great joy to have her around. We met earlier this year, the start of the new semester. She came as an exchange student in NUS. We met in ENCS Lifegroup and we became close after being acquainted for a month or two.

I remember the time during our exam period, we went for dinner in Food Republic, Vivocity, after Lifegroup. She was suppose to go home to study but then I pursuaded her to go Max Brenner and eat chocolates with me. I was quite a devil. Ahem. But ... she refused to go with me. So I gave up. But minutes later, just before we left the table, she came up to me and decided to study the next day rather than that night. I was so excited! So in the end, we went to Max Brenner and enjoyed our evening 'til midnight ** Hendry brought me home, we shared a cabbie. DUR!!

called Hendry up to Max Brenner. Those who were present: Ash, Young, me, Hendry, and Wayne on the cam.

Special moments with Young also includes the pre-Saturday Night Fever day. She and I finished our exams a day or two before the event. A day before the party, both of us went shopping for her costume. She was completely blank about what to wear for the party. I helped her picked out several items from the shops in Far East Plaza. We had such a great night shopping, trying out dresses, and chatting together. The great thing was that she bought everything below her budget. It was surprising, indeed. =) I also suggested her to use contact lenses for the party. It's to blend and match the colors of her outfit, since her glasses was red.

At the party itself, Young won the best outfit! I added my blue necklace so the top won't look too plain. This was how she looked like:

Party Queen!

Then there was the Bali trip. She came to Jakarta and Bali to spend time with us. She even watched the West-Side Story by Morning Star Academy's Performing Arts. At first, I was supposedly accompany her for the whole show. But then I became one of the supporting players for the show, to replace a student. In the end, I asked my aunt and her friends to accompany Young as she sat for the the night show. She had a great time too and of course, a great evening wouldn't be as great if there aren't pictures.

Part of the Tjoandi siblings as WSS casts with Young and Mrs. Tjoandi (my mommah!)

Bali with my Korean babe

We're locked outside our hotel room and we're posin'

Aromatherapy for 2 hours for only Rp.125thou (SGD$20)? What more can you ask!

Second we have Michael Ostique, affectionately known as MacMac. He left for the States today.

Although it was only a month since the first time I met him, but the moments of hangouts were unforgettable. He is such a blessing in my life personally. He's always cheerful and very lovable. The first time we took a picture together, no other words can describe him except ... Mr.Bean. The fact that he looks like one, when he did his "MacMac smile". Proof?

The "MacMac smile" -- I wasn't ready yar!

We always spend hours during hangouts. UNO is our favorite game. So far, our favorite place to sit and play UNO is Far East Plaza. It varies though, depending on our mood. MacMac was known for being our "Shuffleur" (or in English term: one who shuffles). But! I mildly disliked his shuffling because of the constant persistent colors that I've collected when I took the cards from the deck. Grrr...

Nevertheless, UNO without MacMac will never be the same again.

UNO on the floor @ Vivo City

UNO in Burger King @ Far East Plaza -- goin' head to head with MacMac .... and I lost .. .. .. cut hair cut hair!! =/

Snow Patrol - "Signal Fire"

This song really stirs my heart! The melody and Gary Lightbody's voice is EXCELLENT! I've been a fan of Snow Patrol since "Eyes Open" was released. Ya. I know that's like ... last year. =P~
I wish I can compose songs that can stir hearts like Snow Patrol's songs. And then becomes OSTs for movies. Hehe.

settling for less?

I went thru deep thoughts these days.

People here in Indo really got me into thinking about my future. It's not just one time, but it hit me several times. It's more than just my dreams for the future. It's more about the "now". It's like whispers that tell me that my future is in my hands now. I can change it. I'm the one directing it. That's why I should live my life according to how I want my future to be like.

It's a really risky journey. But I know that there's always a price to pay to receive the best.

This is actually the main principle of what I've thought over about love.

When I saw celebrities in that E!Channel, (hehe! yes! i watch that!) it motivates me to think that most of their "partners" were all famous and rich too. Like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Madonna and Guy Ritchie, etc. etc. etc. The question now is... Celebrities knew that they don't want to settle for less, what about us?

How do we know whether or not we are settling for less or not?

1. Check your values and dream-girl/guy characteristic list. -- If what you got is not in your list, don't blame situation. Don't even blame FATE! Remember! We're all human beings! We get to choose what we want. Distractions may appear but it's the way you handle it, that's when you achieve success in life. Here's an easy example. Everyone wants to have a partner that they could be proud of. Yes? Although some may not admit it, but deep down, they feel proud (if not, how can you go about "liking" someone if it doesn't start with "admiration". hur hur hur?!) This pride that u have is actually your "standard" of your crush. People might say it's chemistry, but it's more than that. See it in other people's perspective, especially your family's. Use the values that your family has implanted in you and use it to find the "right" one for you. We want our darlings to be welcomed by our family and friends, don't we? We don't want them to talk behind our backs about how "ugly" your partner looks like. I mean, if they're UGLY, you can't prevent people from commenting on how ugly your partner looks like, yes? <<>

2. Check where your partner usually hang out and the people he hangs out with! -- it's very crucial for us people who are good girls and good boys. HAHA! Anyway, I'm saying that all of us are good! Just that, how do you define "good"? (= Well, in the end, we all will become parents. So if you got a girlfriend/boyfriend that loves to smoke and get drunk and flirtatious (again..example), that's the kind of past that you'll drag along to your future. Then what are you gonna tell your kids? Lie to them about your past? What are you gonna teach them? Good values? Or just don't know, don't care?

The point is.. you're living for your future. Just like how we earn money. We work, we get money, we SPEND! And how does that spending feel if it's for shopping and luxurious treats? Definitely AWESOME! That's life, people. Live it the way you want your end to be. Die with legacies. And become a history-maker. You're an ordinary person bound to do extraordinary things. Who says Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) was a handsome young lad? Or was he a quarterback whom the babes lined up for? Guess again, querida. He's one heck of a nerd with thick-framed glasses. Ordinary? Of course. Even worse. But look at him now. He worked his way up. He's a star. (ooo..how I pray to the Almighty God in Heaven that I will get that kind of hot ang-moh-ish husband) =DD~ Okay! I'm done! And my wish shall come true! Hehe.

ANYWAY. I hope my insights help you all to consider whatever hell you're going through right now. There's always HOPE. I do not condemn anyone. But if it convicted you, hey .. maybe it's time to listen to your conscience and start living a life full of purpose. It's great. And welcome aboard!

Tim's Birthday

... continuation

JUNE 5

ah..so.. the rest of June before the 9th had been hectic. In between the rehearsals, there's Tim's 19th birthday. He celebrated it in err.. I forgot the name! Uh-OH! But it's an Indian cuisine, and it's buffet-like. I personally like the Naan and the .. OMG! I forgot the name again. It's those curry-puffs, with potatoes inside. It sounds like "samosa"! And the mutton curry is also GOOD.

So here's the juicy part. Tim = hyperactive n a real bully. Haha. In return, on his birthday, I gave him something he'll never forget. My evil plan actually WORKED!

I wrapped his Linkin' Park CD (I borrowed it from him, but I haven't returned it yet, so I figured out that I might as well return it "this way".) So then, when I came, I gave him the present and he was questioning and I KNOW he KNOWS that it's a CD. He didn't wait! He opened it right away. When he saw it, he was just "WHAT THE". But then I told him, "Thanks for the CD, man!" K'Fini was laughing and hi5-ing me for doing that. Tim was upset. I waited and waited. And then he saw the envelope, when he opened, he can't find the card (it was also intentional, but the card isn't because of pranks, it's coz JB hasn't written yet!). Should see Tim's face. It's really funny. Seeing him like that, I took out the "real" gift and gave it to him. He was like: "HA! THANK YOU!"

It's a real joke! (+0

Linkin' Park ain't makin' your day eh?! I bet the Converse bag did! (=

The super joker cake. LOOK! It has his face on it! And his face is going to be cut into pieces! =

Lastly, the Timmy face

may 12, 14, and the rest of may

wow!

i haven't been writing for ages!

not even my birthday bash! haha.

hehe. pardon me, mr.creature! i think he's the only one who LOVES to kei-poh around ppl's lives. are you working for E entertainment channel, clarence? =P~

Haha. anyways.

MAY 12

Birthday! Yay! I turned 20! Ahem. quite disturbing actually. the fact that I'm ... ... ... 20! =

But... getting closer to something "interesting" hehehehehehe.

Sooo! This May 12. It fell on a Saturday. and not just an ordinary Saturday. but a Saturday when Hillsong college came to minister, along with Rebirth as the opening, of course. We did 3 songs. I was a ... soprano. =

While we're backstage, one of the Hillsong members spoiled to everyone that that day was my birthday. So they sang "Happy Birthday" song to me.. I can feel my face burning RED at that time. It was really embarassing! Singing a birthday song just for me! Hehe. But it's quite an experience.

MAY 14

Birthday party with the PKs in Tony Roma's. I had a joint birthday party with Fina and her birthday was actually on the day itself. I can't have mine on the 12 coz u know, I have loads of stuff to be responsible of. It's the first time I played "Articulate". During the party, we were playing that! We were so noisy until the waiter shushed us. OOPS! Tim broke a glass. Hanging out with them is so much fun! The jokes, the teasings, the conversations were all meaningful.

A slice of chocolatey frosty cake with funny-looking candles that my sister bought in Ace Hardware that afternoon.

Birthday girls. I saluted Tony Roma's for giving us the chance to celebrate our 20th and 22nd birthdays in a place like that; despite the broken glass and un-demure-ish acts.

The big 2-0 with my sister's manual "O".

The boys get drunk and ... no! They didn't get laid. NOTE: They are under-age.

Oriental Shiva / Vishnu. Who else if it isn't my brother and his faithful Indian fellow buddy!

THE REST OF MAY

The rest of May was another fun part. My stay in Indo actually turned out to be an essential period, especially for the Performing Arts. My previous school was rehearsing for their performance "West-side Story", a musical drama. Usually, after I graduated from there, I helped out in the backstage and also training the students. But this time, it just happened that two of the students were out of the play. It was then my sister and I were asked to substitute their roles as "Jet girls". Not only did we act, we also sing and dance. And the time to rehearse all those was only 1 month! It was really amazing how I can cope up with the dance moves. Omigosh! That's all I can say. I was suppose to dance Mambo, Ballroom dancing...with heels! Dang! Those shoes were loose and steep and BLUE! But I must say, those practices paid off. The play was AWESOME!

to be continued ...

the good ol' days

I'm back!
It's been two days in Jakarta and I really feel like I'm here for good! Woot! Yet, I still have 3 more years to go. In an island. . ... near Sentosa. Haiz...
So what have I been doing but to teach and meet people. First day, I taught Grade 4 Reading.

Then, today I played the keys for devotion and administered Humanities exam for the 12th graders. It's nice to be home.

I met my lil tykes, Janice and Arlene S. They're really adorable. I can see Janice's eyes sparkled when she saw me on stage today. She smiled widely too. Everytime I caught her in the eyes, she would smile and wave at me. Isn't that adorable?

There's also Tante Titia. Still as petite as always and of course, cartoony-type of voice. She's also one heck of a cutie. I feel like pinching and hugging and keeping them all!! They're the ones who can make me smile and destress myself from school work. Grr..

Overall, my days here are supercalifragilistically FANTASTIC! It'll be even better in the days ahead. Rebirth will be singing with Hillsong this Saturday in our church building. That ... we expected a LOT of people to come. Might be full-packed. (2000++ ??) Yep.
Anyways. Enjoy the pictures that I took with my tykes. (=

a revolution with a solution.

The world's changing.
Women tend to be iconoclastic towards men. See those Asian male singers? Or even Western boybands? The image of a macho man is fading away. Here comes the lengthy-haired, cute-faced, and "omigosh-look-at-me-i'm-an-idol" chaps and that's right..they're invading pure maidens' dreams and visions.

"There's no need to be macho to get girls."
Rigghtt.. To a certain extent this builds more charisma in guys, and no offense, it should! Then again, it's quite confusing when they become similar to celebrity images that I've pointed out earlier on. With much respect, guys don't need pretty faces to become charming. I bet if we trace back twenty years from now the meaning of charming is not being pretty-lanky at all.

Girls must be blown away by the gorgeous smile of Jay Chou. Or even, the sweet "hey" from Nick Carter. Must it be them? Just because they combed their extremely silky hair, is there going to be a revolution of women's dream of a Mr.Right?

Take George Clooney, for example. He's the MAN! Too masculine, you say? Well, at least he's not a "go-with-the-crowd" type of being.

So what's this about "charming"? It's not about the looks, boyfriend! It's about being a gentleman.

All these while I've been blabbering and insulting on "feminity". I'll just stay neutral. So to neutralize it ... Even if a macho man has no sense of gentlemanism, oh puhleeze, we girls rather stick with ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... books!

So, to top it all off, this world need no boys nor men. We need gentlemen!

destressing period?

"Life's good! I'm feeling You!" (Branch, 2005)

Yep. One paper down and one more to go. And I have to wait 10 days before my next paper. Haiz.. But nvm! I have time to slack and enjoy my aftermath of Singapore history. HAHA!

After the paper, 3.30pm, Tera, Kain, Jeanette, and I went back together. In Boon Lay station, I met up with Wulan. We already planned that day that we're going to watch a movie after my paper. We went to Orchard. Lido, specifically. We bought the tickets for The Last Mimzy. It's her birthday treat from me! (=

Our movie was supposedly at 7.20PM, but we came very early. So after we bought the tickets we went to eat in Sakae Sushi, Wheelock Place. First time I ordered ramen. Ahem. Yes, usually I ordered Udon. Difference? Of course! One's smaller, one's bigger. I think the ramen tasted like yu mian. Err.. yes. Obviously, I ate too many yu mian, especially in Amara Hotel. My all-time favorite: Sliced Fish Yu Mian, Aunty! d;

After dinner, we walked back to Lido and we were the first people to enter the studio. It's Studio 5. It's really really ugly! And very very old! The ceilings were peeling. And there were water-marks. Eeeew! Anyway, the fun part was we got the chance to take pictures first. SO we did. Not only on our seats, but we also went infront, under the screen. There were 2 "No Smoking" signs on both wings. We went to the right sign and we took pictures there. It's really funny coz we didn't realize that there was actually someone up at the projector room. I don't think he bother anyway.

A few minutes after that, people started to come in. Which was quite GOOD! Coz you don't wanna watch it alone in a big spacy, old, rectanglish room. Eeek! Freaky!
The movie itself was not as "good" as what I've expected. Although it has a bit of thriller, and quite freaky coz it's like Mimzy, the rabbit, can communicate with Emma, the lil girl. It's just ALRIGHT.

That's how I spent my de-stressing period yesterday. I'm still not in the mood to study. I guess I'd better start tomorrow. Or else... [choke]

life and love and why?

"Appreciate what you have now. You'll never know what happen tomorrow."

That was the line that my friend told me a few days ago. I was feeling really down these past few days. I missed home, I was stressed out because of exams, I was lonely, I was broken until I lost my self-image. The depressing thoughts always attacked me until I cannot take it anymore that I even thought of ending my life. Stupid isn't it?

Just yesterday I talked to my friend online and he knew I wasn't okay. But he just said, "Appreciate now!" At first, I told him I can't! How am I suppose to appreciate life when it's all depressing?! He then told me what happened to him. I was shocked. I thought he was okay. But upon hearing the news that he was diagnosed with some type of disorder made me think deeply. He encouraged me in someway. When I asked him if he's alright, he told me that he's fine. I told him to get a treatment or just do a check-up or something. He said he will but he exclaimed that he will be enjoying every single day without thinking there's something wrong with him. I was touched.

I reflected on his words. He has faith. He was struck by a disease and yet he rejoiced; but I, on the other hand, only encountered stress and I thought that's the end of the world already. Depressed people didn't think ahead. They only think of themselves. They thought that problems only struck them and because it's painful for them, they thought that it's better to end it. But what about others? They didn't think that it'll affect people around them, such as family members, loved ones, and friends. They didn't believe that God created them to bless others. Here I am, talking like a "holy" person, and yet I can't believe that I had thoughts of ending my life. But hey..don't worry..I realized that I still have a purposeful life to live. God reminded me of so many things before I make that "foolish" decision.

He said:

1. Remember you wanna spoil your kids?
2. Remember you're going to write books?
3. Remember you're going to speak to millionares and billionares?
4. Remember you're going to be a model?
5. Remember you're going to be a motivator?
6. Remember you're going to take over the school and make legacies?
etc etc etc..

I was dumbfounded. I nodded and told God, "Hey, God! You're right. It's not the time yet to die." I had so many things that I haven't accomplished yet and the prophecies have not been fulfilled yet. The thought of it strengthened me. It actually cleared my mind of dying early.
Sometimes, I would also think that I'll die early, like in a car-crash, or plane-crash, or something. But, with this as a "pegangan hidup", I am so sure that God still wants me to live. He has a great destiny for me, and I don't have to worry a single thing.

Wow. It actually applies to my second exam paper. Why do people have religions? That question kept on bothering me for the whole month. I don't have a perfect answer and I really want to hear your answer. And what is religion to you? If you say that it's a belief, then what's it meant by free-thinker? Don't you know that free-thinkers also have a belief?

Hope this post blesses ya'll and motivate ya'll to live a purposeful life. We're not called to just populate the Earth. We have a purpose.
Be blessed.
______and happy studying! d;

He knows my name.

I'm a proud daughter of my Creator. I inherit a big bigg bigggg kingdom.

discussions.

Sunday afternoon. Suppose to be studying but you know me ... after ALS...WHOOOOSH!!! no more man! ='D siannnnn....

Oh well, I promise to study tomorrow. Actually, I've been studying since 3 days ago. My studying would mean, talking to people and asking them about Singapore history (haha! cheating right? =P)

I got a question for you all who read this post. If you guys can provide me a good answer for my argument (this is also helping me in my exam), it'll be SOOOOOO great! And I must say I can't thank you enough for helping me out. Coz you see, I never took Singapore history before. So believe it or not, I had a Singapore history module this semester. Better yet, it's a tertiary level module! Aaaaaaaaaaa..... I'm bombarded by this Raffles and Goh Keng Swee. Wooooooo!!
But it's quite an experience to learn other people's culture. And hey! Singapore history did not go as far as Indonesian history, so it's not as difficult as other country's history. =)

So here are my questions:

1. What is a global-city?
2. Can Singapore become a global-city before the 1980s?
3. How do you separate facts from myth for Singapore's pre-1819 history?
4. What is the role of Goh Keng Swee? What is so important about him? Does he play a major role in the making of a global-city?

Do post your answers on the tagboard. If it's not enough ... chat with me or post it on friendster. Cheers and muchos gracias! =D

saturday night.

Haiz...

This is like quite sucky. I had to study on weekends. I've been chionging my AAH 104 essay about Indian cultural influence in South-East Asia. Seriously, it's not much to talk about. I thought we're supposed to argue on essays (like what our ALS module taught us) but it doesn't apply in my history course! Especially with Dr.Fernando! He wants archaeological evidences. AAaaaaaarghh!! And you know what ... okay! He's an Indian. He expects all of us to pronounce his Indian words correctly with the exact pronunciation as he does it. EH! Helloo!! I'm very oriental and most of us are! Only Kahbini is the only Indian in our history class. Chih! I hope I don't get deducted on those minor things. ... ... ...

But interesting facts are:

1. Garuda is a mythical bird! -- Phoaaa! When I first read this in one of D.G.E Hall's chapter, I was quite shocked. Indonesian national icon was based on a mythical bird. It was influenced by Hinduism coz that bird was supposedly a warrior bird, ridden by a Hindu god called Vishnu.

2. Sanskrit language was originated from India. -- This, I think most of us know that. But must take note that in Indonesia, Sanskrit wasn't really adopted fully. They did mixed some Sanskrit into Javanese. Examples: "Mandala", "Chandi", "Dharma".

3. Srivijaya kingdom existed in Sumatra. -- The major city that played a major role in commerce was what we call now, Palembang.

So many things to talk about, yet so lazy...coz I've been doing this since last week. Chionging and chionging... ><" ...Haha! Anyway! That's all for today. It's already 11.26 PM. *waiting*. IC if you're reading this, you know what I'll say right? Hehe.. Yep! Tqm. Nite people! =) p.s. This was what I did during lunchtime...Got nothing better to do...
